Default Gas yamaha back firing....

I have a 2005 gas engine Yamaha golf cart tht is back firing. I cleaned the carb but the problem still exists. I've read that a valve adjustment may correct the problem. How do I adjust the valves or what else should I do. Thanks

First, you have to make shure the accelerator cables are alowing the throttle shaft to close al the way. hope that that is the problem.

Make sure the throttle closes completely when you let off the pedal, I ended up adding a return spring on mine. Also the valves could be out of adjustment so if thats the case that can cause backfiring also.
