New G22 lift Question??
I have a Yamaha G16 and I put a Jakes 6" lift with 12" rims and 22" tires.
I just bought a 2006 Yamaha G22 and want to put a 6" lift and take those tires from the G16 and put the G22. I had someone tell me that a "spindle" lift is not sturdy and is only for use on the golf course, not of road. So my question is: has anyone used the 6" jakes spindle lift kit and large off road tires for off roading? or do I need an A-arm lift kit? Thanks..... |

Re: New G22 lift Question??
In my opinion, Jake's lift spindle's are solid as a rock! They do "kick" the wheels forward about an inch and out about he same. Some say they don't like them and go with the long travel kit. My customers have been very happy with the 3" and 6" spindle lifts...If you stay with 22' tires. Good luck on your new build

Re: New G22 lift Question??
Go find Shmo's thread on this subject. He preferred the long travel on a G22. Can't remember details.
If Block endorses it tho, its got ta be descent! |

Re: New G22 lift Question??
I installed the 6" Jake's kit on my G22 I bought in mint condition and didn't have any issues until I drove it. There's quite a bit of sway driving on 10" 22's. Anything I may have done wrong? To me it should drive solid like others have reported, without any further add ons. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Re: New G22 lift Question??
I put the 6" spindle lift on a few weeks ago and have BEAT on it since. Driving over 10" trees in the woods and going through ditches and mud etc. without a problem. I have 10" ATV rims and 23" tires and it tracks really well though I will have to deal with the camber somehow. I like the skinny front tires and it seems really stable. I would buy again but am curious about the long travel.

Re: New G22 lift Question??
I don't have an issue off road but over the road it has a lot of roll. I've read many different opinions but personally feel it shouldn't take additional purchases to correct the matter. It's not terrible but should be more stable. Taking a corner at times puts a tire up in the air, turning at a moderate speed.
Any adjustment suggestions that can be done to tighten her up a bit would be well received. |
