G16 sluggish with airbox
Hello, new to this, great info everyone, thanks.
I stretched my g16a into a 6 seater. When I got it back it lost a ton of power and was backfiring. I adjusted the valves, changed plug, bought a new carb, changed drive belt. It gained power back with the new carb, but only when I leave the air box open on top. If I seal it, it runs sluggish. If I take it off, it runs great except the backfiring at low speeds. I want the power without the backfiring. Help please. Thanks |

Re: G16 sluggish with airbox
It may be running too rich. You would have to adjust the carb.

Re: G16 sluggish with airbox
thanks. from what I see there are only two adjustment places...1 has a plastic stopper on the screw and it can turn 1/4 turn to the left or right, the second is what looks to be a jet on the top portion of the carb behind the throttle cable. do you have a general adjustment rule of thumb for either of these?
