Maybe I'll skip the beer this time
When I first welded mine I was drinking and it was late. I pulled the engine forward with a c-clamp. Evidently I did not have the clamp in the center |

Well, I got the engine properly alligned and the problem is gone.
The 1/2inch metal bar idea was genious. It turns out that a 1/2 inch (12mm) metal bar in the center of the secondary clutch will let you get the engine not only parallel but also in the right place side to side. The inside edge of the metal bar is within 1mm of where the edge of the belt will track. I got the engine in the right place in less than 5 minutes with this trick. I just timed the cart at 28mph and I'm pretty sure I can get more with proper jetting, an air cleaner, and an exhaust that is not the stock G1 pipe. Thanks for all the help guys! |
