Had the same issue. The cable from the electrical box cam to the carb had come off.
It would crank, had gas and spark but the butterfly in the carb was not opening so no air. Need all three gas will not burn without o2. |

I don't think that's it as that is connected, however I do have some news/a question. So I was messing with it trying to diagnose it and I noticed that it will actually start and run if I let off the gas pedal and hold the throttle with my finger. Would that give you guys any indication of what the problem is? Thanks

Yeah, it sounds like a linkage problem. You'll want to inspect all of the rods and cables between the gas pedal and the carb.
