Default 1979 solenoid question

My 79 has had reverse and a weak forward for awhile now...well forward just went bye bye. I've got 2 new solenoids and will eventually get the other 3, but which 2 should I replace to get it moving again? Is the one with the negative lead reverse?? Should I replace the 2 next to that?????? Any help will be appreciated . ..my grandson misses his evening golf cart ride with me.

test each solenoid to see which ones are bad

test solenoid
Quote:
Disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery. remove all wires, restorer , and diode from solenoid
test 1
Connect an volt meter, set on continuity, place on the two large terminal studs. The meter should indicate no continuity, Replace the solenoid if continuity is present.
test 2
Using jumper wires attach from main positive and main negative of battery pack to the two small solenoid studs, polarity is not important. You should hear a click as the solenoid engages, and the meter should indicate continuity on the two large terminals. Replace the solenoid if continuity is not present.
if solenoid clicks rapidly solenoid is bad
also test the micro switches
finally check coils in resistors they break sometimes

your wiring diagram

Ok,solenoids tesetd fine. I replaced the f/r switch, it crumbled as it came out so I figure it was bad. Unlike the diagram from crash,my switch has 3 prongs instead of 2 (I'll try to post pics) and I can't find any other microswitches. It's a 1979 carouch. The green wire from the switch was bad at the end where I plug the charger in so I fixed it. That post seems wooblely but I don't see why that should effect the running. The cart only clicks now and won't move.

Pic should be attached....maybe I'm calling it the wrong thing but it's the small red box with 3 small wires attached. If that's the same as yor diagram the you say I should route a jumper wire from the bottom 2 back to the motor??
