Re: A arm vs spindle lift kits
All good stuff.
I have a new problems. I ordered a Jakes 6" double a arm kit, however my Turf 2 has front drum brakes and the kit doesn't have the brackets or anything to handle those. I have 2 questions. Is there a kit that allows me to keep the front brakes, if not should I just remove the front drums and only rely on the the rears? thoughts? thanks again, |

Re: A arm vs spindle lift kits
I don't know the answer to that question but my two carts only have rear drums. I'd guess it was put there for a reason so I'd assume that you need them. I think a sponsor could help you with the proper lift kit for your application.

Re: A arm vs spindle lift kits
I don't believe any kits are offered for front drum brakes, at least not that I've seen in my years. You can always add the front disc brake kits with proper clearance. I did a spindle kit the other day, and the stock size wheels wouldn't clear the arms. You made the right choice with a double a arm kit though, as it allows for Camber angle adjustment as well as toe alignments. If I were you I would call Jakes support number and ask them about the lift for front brake equipped vehicles

Re: A arm vs spindle lift kits
I called jakes and they don't offer a kit that has front brakes with the a arm kit. They do have front brakes on the spindle kit though. Any kits out there with front brakes on a a arm kit?

Re: A arm vs spindle lift kits
I don't believe anybody makes an A-Arm lift kit that will utilize the factory front wheel brakes. We usually remove them.

Re: A arm vs spindle lift kits
Tahoe, would you recommend I just remove the front brakes on my turf 2? I don't really ever intend to put a full payload into the bed so I'm just wondering if the rear brakes will be sufficient for stopping power.
