Default 2002 club car ds iq help - surging, won't run

My daughters have really been putting the hours on this cart for the past few months, since they are out of school. Batteries are 2007, but i took good care of them until this became their main cart.
They have ran the batteries down a few times in the past few weeks while i was at work. They pushed it home, and said it would not go but was surging and moving a few inches. Sometimes it would surge backward for a few inches when switch was in forward position.
I charged the batts last night, and they are reading 49.6 volts after charger has been off for a few hours. It is still doing the surging, as they described.

Any ideas?

Thanks guys

Have you tried leaving a meter hooked to your batteries while testing for forward and reverse? Your batteries are at best only showing 70 % SOC and they 8 years old. While they may show reasonable voltage after charging there is likely nothing left to them and are unable to deliver any amperage on demand.

When I tried to check the voltage drop on batteries, seems like the solenoid is not energizing. Placed the batteries in my EZGO and it runs, voltage drop on dash gauge is as usual, drops a couple of volts under full load. You are correct about the batteries being old, and it is time for replacing.

Does anyone know of a troubleshooting flow chart for a 2002 Club Car DS IQ? I found one a couple of years ago for an EZGO, and it made troubleshooting easy.

Thanks

I used the troubleshooting guide from the previous post, and made it to page 16, where it reads to make sure the blue white wire on solenoid it pulled low. I checked continuity to battery pack negative and there was no continuity. To make sure that I was on the right track, I disconnected the blu/wht wire from solenoid, and ran a jumper wire to that point from battery pack negative. When I turned on key switch, solenoid energized, and when I pressed the pedal the wheels started to spin as normal. Could my symptoms have been that the controller was starting to fail all along? I didn't see any instructions to check the MCOR or even see the MCOR in the schematics in the troubleshooting guide.
Thanks everyone.
