Default 92 Club Car DS - Single seat back

Thinking of replacing my two seat backs with a single. Remember seeing some postings on it but can't locate.

What's involved with changing and who has the replacement back?

You have to convert the seatback assembly to the newer style before you can bolt on a new style seat. You may be able to find one laying around at a cart shop somewhere. Every time a flip-seat or cargo box is installed, the seatback assembly comes off. There's a bunch of them out there, you've just gotta find them. Or, you could buy new.

I have a cargo box and the original two seat back. I have the equip to fabricate one if I knew the dimensions/layout but if I could find one it may not be worth the effort of making one.

It doesn't appear that the OEM seat backs were supported properly after the cargo box was installed because the top rail on one of the seat back holders was broken at the bend and I had to make a new one.

Thanks for the info

David, it just registered with me what you said. I have a cargo box so whatever is removed at the cart shops must be something I don't need. All I have is the two vertical pieces that attach the individual seat backs minus the angled pieces that originally went towards the back. So do I reuse the uprights with new backs or is there another bracket that's required when a cargo box is being used?

With a cargo box, all you'll need is a couple of pieces of 1 inch square tubing. It'll bolt to the box and to the seat back. You'll have to put a bend in it to position the seat back where you want it. Remove the existing brackets first. I can order an OEM replacement seat back for you.

Yes, they will run the system long enough for test purposes.
