Hey guys, needing some help diagnosing a 99 ds.

Putting it in tow while diagnosing. Will I be getting any voltage readings in that position.

The driver side solenoid is for dynamic braking. It can be by- passed for testing cart. Just connect both large wires to the same post. The other one should click when you turn the key on, when cart is in run. Does it do that.

Heading out for church. Hope to play around with it when we get home. Just by following the bigger gauge wired from solenoid, looks like they go to controller. Then on from there to the motor.

How can I test controller and motor.

I thought it was Dynamic braking

it goes from A2 on controller to A2 on motor(large cables) and from controller to the f/r switch (small wire)
it was my understanding from another post that it uses the resistor coil to burn off speed in reverse ..

now im not sure

Alright guys. Jumped the solenoid off after not hearing any clicking.

Jacked up rear end and flipped everything on and hit the go pedal. Wheels were turning in f and r.

Going to dig a little deeper to make sure that the "remote" wires that engage the solenoid are actually supplying the right amount of power before I diagnose bad solenoid.

If I leave the solenoid jumped for a few min, will that hurt anything. Or is it always engaged when the key is on.

Which solenoid did you jump.

I jumped the pass side. Drove it forward and in reverse a few times while it was jumped. The other solenoid with the resistor got hot as ****.

did you test the solenoids ?

I checked to see if it was engaged. Continuity across whole turning on key. And nothing. Any other way to test it. Like wiring going to it may not have been getting voltage.
