Id bet 100 bucks too its the controller. I would have it rebuilt by a top rebuilder. I have never had one fail. Good rebuilders will update the internals if there are any.

to makes things even worse I decided to check my solenoid and I do not have continuity across the 2 small wires on the solenoid. and the only problem is they are not available here in the U.K. so if you guys know of a good bargain on a solenoid Albright club car SW80-1035P 48V please let me know

Listen I an not saying the controller isn't bad. It might very well be bad. But there is lot of things to check before I would spend $500 on a new controller. Like am I getting the reverse signal to the controller.
