Default 04 ezgo mpt 800 axel

maybe a dumb question but paid 50 bucks for this cart and i can hear the motor turning when pressing gas but wheels dont move i went to take the wheels off to check the hub and the axel just pulled out with the tire is this normal? i dont know anything about this cart but what i read here thats why i was trying to check the hub i did see a bearing fall out when the axel came out in i guess what im asking is, what part holds the axel in? any diagram showing this? thanks in advance

Axle bearing failed. It is held in by the split ring that is still in the end of the axle. Seals are 26766G01
and bearing should be 26811G01.. Please double check those numbers
