Default Rear Seat Question

I want to put a back seat on my 2004 EZGO TXT PDS. I also want to add a bag holder. I was thinking that I could put a rear seat with the safety grab bar and than drill my existing bag holder into the safety grab bar, resting the clubs on the foot rest. Has anyone ever tried this? I want to be able to fit my wife and 2 kids on the cart when we go golfing, along with 2 sets of clubs. Any other ideas? Can anyone reccomend a good golf back attachment? I figured that this would be the cheapest way I could do this.

I think that this would work good, as long as your bags don't slide off the bottom when you hit bumps. Also some kind of quick disconnect on the bag holder so you can take it off when you're not golfing.

I have a guy that lives down the road from me that has a setup like what you are describing. I see it would be an issue if you tried to use the rear seat at the same time as the holder and it is long behind the rear wheels but that is the only issue I can see with it.

Lots of carts equipped like you want around here. I think (almost positive) there is a kit for it. May not be the cheapest route however.

Here is one vendor who carries the bag attachment kit.

I think you need to point the bags away from the seat. If you rest them on the foot rest there will be no foot or leg room for the rear seat passengers. You might be able to mount the existing bag holder on the back of the grab handle but will probably need something extended to go under the bottom of the bags.

Something that you also might to want to consider is heavier springs in the rear or longer shackles.

Just thinking...what if you attached the holder for a 5 gallon water cooler (like you'd see on a contractor's truck) to the grab rail then strap your bag to it.

Kinda like this;

That got me thinking. How about getting two pull behind golf carts. No, I am not suggesting pulling them but cutting them up to make a mountable carrier.

Remove the folding handles and the wheels. Use the folding handle tubing to bolt horizontally to the cart grab handle upper and lower then bolt the verticle tubing between the bag holder bracket to those.

Perhaps you can find two used pull carts.

I don't play golf but if I did the easiest solution would be to leave the wife and kids home and go golf with a buddy. Plenty of room for him, me and the clubs with no nagging and whining.
