glad im a hoarder
So i gave my kids the 89 marathon i picked up and the rear had a nasty grinding noise. Traced it to the input shaft bearing away from the motor.
i ordered the bearing but did not want to leave it apart so i searched my scrap parts pile and low n behold, the bearing inside the idler pulley from either a chevy ls 6.0 or a hyundai 3.5( those are the 2 idlers i know i saved) is the same dimensions just sealed. I'm gonna check the part # on the box to make sure i know which one it is. i broke it out of the plastic pulley and swapped it. Noise is gone Now i know remember why i don't throw much away Just thought i would share Now onto the next build...... |
