Re: best way to cut 2G cable
I had a customer come in to the shop today- (I am an Optician and we make safety glasses and specialty glasses- prescription shooting hunting, fishing motorcycle glasses)
I got talking with the guy and he works on electric fork lifts and battery powered equipment- 24 volt, 36 volt, and 48 volt- I was picking his brain to see if another field had any other answers and he agrees with what all have said here on the board- he did wish his customers would think like the board I showed him the site and he was REALLY impressed with what all you guys build- he always thought it would be cool to have a hot cart for the shop LOL- he told me about a site WAYTEK that was half the price of ebay he did get a big smile on a couple points, like " wow I never thought of that" he said what you all have said- solder makes better connections better use of power, less wasted by corosion. The guy said you will get the most out of your batteries with good connections- he described it as watering your lawn with a real leaky hose, your leaky hose wastes water and bad wires waste energy you should have heard him laugh when he saw Johnieb's hat , Gonorman outfit and kernels smile- LOL this man was a whole lot different from the welding guys- who didn't really get it, except for the solder pellets well I did order my stuff- the 2g copper with tin coating- 2 g solder pellets and the shrink tubing- this place had the kind with glue inside the shrink wrap- he said less moisture, less air, means less corrosion- just like Porthole said- he was really looking at the hot go fast carts and the jacked up carts for his property in the country maybe I got another convert I cannot imagine what kind of spare parts this guy has at his disposal thanks again guys |
