Re: batteries
when looking at the controller i noticed an orange tab thing with 2 wires connected to 2 parts of the controller. one of the wires was broken. do i need this? if so where can i get one and what is it called? or can i just replace it with a 12g wire?

The orange disk is a MOV (metal-oxide varistor). If you replace it with a piece of wire, you will burn out the armature in your motor. It is a surge protector and is not needed for operation. If you desire to replace it, check with Radio Shack or similar electronics supply. |

Re: batteries
Is the solenoid is clicking when you press the pedal?
If so, connect a DVM between the B- and M- terminals on the controller. When the pedal is pressed just far enough for the solenoid to click, you should read FULL battery pack voltage. If not, follow the cables highlighted in red on the attached schematic un till you find the voltage. The problem will be between the last place without voltage and the first place that has voltage. |

Re: batteries
Based on all your posts I believe your batteries are worn out or not charging properly. Do you have a digital volt meter? If you can get your hands on one measure the total pack voltage and each individual battery voltage and report what they are. You don't have to disconnect any wires to do this. We need individual battery voltages to two decimal places. eg. 6.37. A needle type volt meter is not adequate for this measurement.

Re: batteries
all of my batteries are good and fully charged. charger working properly. the way it just stopped doesnt sound at all like a battery issue to me. it didnt progressively stop it just suddenly cut off power to the motor or something
