TXT Magic Smoke...but still working?

I went to start the cart yesterday and heard a click and then smelled the magic smoke when I depressed the pedal. It would not move in reverse, but I do not think that I had the switch all the way engaged in reverse. I quickly pulled up the seat but could not locate where the smoke was coming from. I then toggled between forward and then back to reverse and the cart worked fine in both forward and reverse.

Any suggestions on where to start looking for problems or what I should go ahead and replace. Everything appears to be working fine, but I do not want ot get stuck and would rather replace now. The F/R is less than a year old and has had very little use.

2006 TXT, 48 volt (8 - 6volt) with Altrax 500A controller, HD F/R switch, upgraded solenoid and 2/O wires throughout.

Having the sifter partially engaged might cause the contacts to arc and that may have made the smoke? Be sure to fully engage the F&R and check for heat or smoke occasionally.....
