Default 48v upgrade

I have a 98 ezgo txt series cart. Its a 36v. I have a new alltrax 4855 controller and d&d motor. My batteries are older and I was just wondering what I would need to do to make it a 48v cart and if it would be worth it.

As far as i know.. you should only need to upgrade the cables and fnr switch.
What about the charger? you will need to improve it. do you have the extra batteries for the cart or are you going to get all new ones? However, scottyb is the man to talk to on this site for everything you need... send him a pm.. he will hook you up..

48v Is a great upgrade. It will wake that cart right up! You will need a 48v charger, 48v HD solenoid, new diode and resistor for that solenoid, a HD F/R switch cam, 2g cables, and a supply of toilet paper. Battery configuration is debatable.

A 48v capable solenoid, heavy duty F/R switch (or HD switch cam), appropriate resister and diode, 48v worth of batteries and a way to charge them. All high current wires should be replaced whether you upgrade to 48v or not especially if they are original. 4 ga. and I think a good case can be made for 2ga.

Other things to think about: The LED battery meter that typically comes with these carts and brakes to handle the extra speed.

Edit: Never mind. Gornoman covered it.
