Longer Golf Cart shocks? (not automotive)
Does anyone make longer golf cart specific shocks? I'd like to get rid of the shock extensions on mine, they are barely long enough anyway.
I've tried car shocks and the ride isn't satisfactory. Golf cart shocks ride better IMO. |

Why not make longer extensions using connector nuts and all thread rod?

We've had success with Mr Gasket Shock Extensions. They make 2 different lengths and you can find them anywhere from Amazon to Summit Racing to your local hot rod shop.

fairplay/ star/ use longer Gabrial gas charged shocks on their stock carts in the front because of the arched springs. Find one and do some measuring. The ends on the shocks will match an ez.

Automotive shocks work good,as long as you get Hydraulic and not Gas-Charged.The Gas-Shocks are stiffer(more noticeable on a cart). You also can't use RV,or Light-Truck Shocks, they are valved differently for heavier-weight trucks.I run Monroes on all the carts that we switch-over,and haven't had any complaints. The good shock-extenders are fine too.

So a Monroe hydraulic shock will work on a lifted cart? I'm thinking about swapping mine out too if it gives a better ride. It runs great on the road, but when I take it out on the lease it's bumpy ride....

Go to MonroeShocks.com, look up shock measurement sheets. You find the style mounts you have, then look for shocks that have the Min/Max length you need with the ends your cart has.It will list a Monroe part#,that you can go to any parts store and buy or order.Hope this helps.

Re: Longer Golf Cart shocks? (not automotive)
So I guess the short answer is "no". Bummer.
I have Mr Gasket's longest shock extensions. I have 9"+ lift on my ezgo and the shock extensions are really not long enough. I don't like how they look and they don't help ANY with more shock travel. The search continues for a replacement. |

I don't understand your feelings towards car-shocks,unless you used the incorrect one.I had the original shocks on mine,it rode fair, added the Monroes,it rode like a new cart. Its' all in the style of shock.
