IMO The 4 leaf springs are made for the shuttles and 1200 series workhorses that carry lots of weight. With a rear seat they are OK as long as there is some extra weight in the seat. On a plain cart with no seat, yes they will be stiff. But you can probably pull the shortest one out if you find they are too stiff.

Install is the same and new bushings is good. The workhorse in my avatar is my daughters and it has the 3 leafs in it because that is plenty for hers. Mine has the 4 leaf but it usually has at least a 54qt cooler in the bed full of libations and my 250 lb butt in the front. It is also the one I use to move boats, trailers and other heavy items. Little stiff but not bad.

I have the four spring set up on a 2000 TXT with a cargo box and stock height tires. It rides fine to me, driven on paved roads or semi-smooth yards. I do not go mud bogging or trail riding with it so can't speak on that aspect.

subby44, you bought the pair for $40 ? If they are new, you stole them.. On road you really won't notice too much but hit a few bumps and no give, they will remind you they are stiff.

I just put mine on about two months ago. Front and rear. It does make it a bit stiffer as Gorno said when solo, but when loaded is much easier. It is personal preference but I like the solid feel. Seems to take turns much better. Mine old ones were definitely shot.

What brand did you buy & where did you get them? I have 3 leafs on my TXT (w/backseat) & perhaps they're worn out (they're flat) but it's way to cushy

Mucksavage... I got them online.. I got the conf. # yesterday and noticed that I actually got the pair for 39.00 with free shipping... I ordered 2 because I thought I was only buying 1 for 39.00... It seems to me that I ordered four springs thinking I was getting two. If this is true, I will sell you the 2 extra for what I have in them and you pay the shipping on them.. let me know if you are interested!! I looked online a few min. ago and noticed the price on them went up 10.00...
