Intermittent axle/wheel noise
My cart just started making an intermittent noise coming from the left rear wheel. Sort of like a ceiling fan out of balance...rrrmp, rrrmp, rrrmp, rrrmp. It gets faster as the cart gets faster. If i press the brakes while moving, it does not stop the noise. 2008 EzGo Freedom SE, 6 in lift, 22in tires. Any help is appreciated. I did a search and reviewed other posts, but I haven't found a post that fits.

Re: Intermittent axle/wheel noise
Sounds exactly like a real wheel hub that spun. It will get worse and worse untill the axel will just spin and the cart will not move. cheap and easy fix now. once it lets loose it is far more of a pain to fix. Expecially if you are out in teh woods or away from teh shop.

I agree with the post above.. It really sounds like it could be a hub... fix it now.. before the headache starts..

Re: Intermittent axle/wheel noise
My 08 Ezgo is doing that and it is a wheel bearing going out... Gets worse when I turn in a direction that puts more weight on the bad side = makes the noise louder.

Re: Intermittent axle/wheel noise
bc, pull the wheel and see if you can wobble the hub or how tight the nut is. If you can move it, could be the hub but I'm betting with scottyb on this one, I think bearing but no biggie. Order the bearing kit from EZ-Go for under $25 (611931) and get the bearing and seal or just the bearing is $15 (15112G1) .

Re: Intermittent axle/wheel noise
I am going on my third set of Hubs for my cart. It is a well know week link to high power carts. Mine have been doing fine for over a year this time but I put in a new 85lb limo motor and did not reprogram the throttle up rate on my Alltrax. When I nailed the pedal the cart flipped straight up in the air and landed on my extended trailer hitch. After I smashed back down to the ground I immediately here the tell-tale whom whoop sound of the hub going bad as I slowly drove forward. Do not get aftermarket parts for this part of the cart. OEM only trust me I have had both. E-Bay and many other sell single or double HUB’s for cheap but make 100% sure it is OEM. Most seem to drop ship from EXGO anyway. Fix it before it becomes a bigger issue and you have to get into the bearings or damage the splines on your axel.

Re: Intermittent axle/wheel noise
You may have already checked this, but mine was doing the same thing and it turned out the lug nuts had loosened up. I have since learned to check them periodically!
