Default Down In Baja

Solar Cart running fine until. I thought I was not getting full speed one day, was not sure. Then could hear a slight ticking sound coming from the rear, maybe brakes? Jacked up both sides and it seemed free, spinning the wheels so. Drove a couple more days, now I know I am now attaining full speed and I think it is coming from the 3 year old Plum Quick Bandit that has given me 23 mph. Disconnected batteries and put it in TOW I pull the motor. 3 bolts and it is apart. Now I smell a bad smell and when I put the motor on end lots of black stuff are on my sidewalk. Looks like graphite. And maybe I even saw some brass pieces. I am afraid to take the other end off, as it did not come off easily when I removed the 2 bolts. There is also a 1 inch x 2 inspection plate with one small screw in it that did not reveal much when removed. I am pretty sure the brushes are toast. Called Plum Q today, but they are closed. I am only here in Baja for 2 more weeks and then back to Oregon so I probably will have to push my cart on the trailer. Any input out there? Is motor toast? I think maybe some black plastic parts in there too? 2004 Ez-GO PDS with 400 amp controller 36 volts

Were it me, I'd be looking for a local electric motor shop. I have very serious doubts there is anything in there that can not be replaced locally.
