Won't Stop Moving
Hi all!
Just as of late I have had a problem with my 1990 EZGO cart staying on. When the Forward/Reverse switch in either position it stays on & going in that direction no matter if the accelerator pedal is not depressed. (It does stay off in Neutral) I have had that happen a year or so ago after a rain perhaps, but pressing the peddle then snapping the peddle up rapidly in Neutral a few times made it stop Now however I can’t get it to stop doing it. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Stehle |

Re: Won't Stop Moving
Actually I have checked the travel of both the pedal and rod it’s attached to. (Zeroed position, they both seem right to me.)
The swipe arm (for lack of a better word) seems to be going back down where it’s supposed to when pedal is let up. (May still be making contact to bottom stud on the ”swiper” board.) As to an ”Older resistor coil cart?” it is a 1990 Textron, but what would I look for to tell? Thank you for helping! |

Re: Won't Stop Moving
If the pedal is attached to something like the one pictured, it is a resistor cart.
Meaning there is a set of resistor coils that heat up when the cart is running at the lower speeds. When the pedal is up, the moveable contact (Wiper) should rest on the the stationary contact that doesn't have a cable attached, and the lever arm should be pushing in on the roller arm on the microswitch. If the cart is moving with the pedal up, the solenoid contacts are not opening. Could be welded solenoid contacts, or the microswitch isn't removing the activation voltage from it. |

Re: Won't Stop Moving
THANK YOU BOTH!
I will try to replace the microswitch as soon as I'm able and let you all know the results. (To be honest I couldn't even see that switch with the batteries in! Yes indeed "...every picture does tell a story." ) |

Re: Won't Stop Moving
If I'm looking at it right, electrically, there's no difference between position 0 and position 1 on the high current loop?
