1991 ezgo wont go
I have an issue with a golf cart. EZGO 617034 (bo191)...1. When i got it it wasn't running but the owner said that it worked. 2. I had to have a welder re-do the battery boxes for they were eat up. 3. i made up a diagram to the way the cables were and bought brand new 6 volt bat. and installed them. 4. When installed i noticed that it didn't have a key so i went to the local auto parts and bought a keyed switch. 5. Hooked everything up and nothing. 6. When i turned the switch i could hear clink sound coming from the selonoid but it would not do anything, i had a friend come over and we are getting a constant reading (volts) on the motor leads........We also noticed that a wire on the key switch (one goes to the bat.) and the other is hot but don't know where it goes???.(Note when you touch a ground to that wire it archs)..... Also i'm not getting a clinking sound out of the selonoid now, did i blow something up????...I guess a wiring diagram would start things in the right direction..........

Controller or resistor speed control?
Check the Stickies at the top of the EZGO section page. If not, PM me and I'll send you the factory wiring for either one. |

Re: 1991 ezgo wont go
I had a similar problem with my 91 ezgo and found that after sitting for a while the connections on my speed controller oxidized and required cleaning and I mean real cleaning not just a quick wipe or spray. After polish with a brass brush it started running fine

Re: 1991 ezgo wont go
Can you tell us if the cart has a box of resistor coils or an electronic speed control between the batteries?
The first step toward any trouble shooting is to ID the drive system and establish battery pack voltage. Do you have a voltmeter? |
