![]() Ummmmmm......should I take "no responses" to this post as meaning there is no way to test a 1206 off the cart or does it mean no one knows?
I was going to ask this question also so I thought I might as well use this old thread. ![]() |

![]() no theres no real test for bench testing the controller off the cart now on the cart with the year of the cart we can tell you how to tell if controllers good.......theres nothing in the servive manual about bench testing them either.......well there is but its kinda dumb...........their suggestion is put a new controller in the cart and if it runs ok than leave new controller in there, its not just E-Z go that does this its C.C. and Yamaha also so if you want to put controller back in let me know i,ll explaine it..................if you don,t mind me asking why do you think controller is bad and have you checked/tested any other componants ? ...............................

![]() Take yours out, put it on a bench, try a new one.
I guess that could be considered a "bench" test....lol I bought a '96 EzGo series cart as a basket case to build for myself over the winter. I travel for work so I have been gathering up parts and pieces here and there. It now has a 6" lift, EMP 2 speed motor, all new batteries and 4ga. cables. I had a new AllTrax AXE4844 controller and 22"x11"10" tires with spoke wheels (keyword=had) someone "borrowed" them while I was out of town. They tore the controller out and damaged a few wires, which I have repaired. I am now trying to get it going to at least run around the property until I replace the missing items (again) this winter. I went back to the original 1206 controller from the cart and it wouldn't work. I tested it while on the cart (per EzGo's tech manual) and it shows bad. It worked when I took it off and it has only set on a shelf for 6-8 months. I was wanting to test the controller again now that it is off the cart was my reason for asking about a bench test. I was having trouble believing it went bad sitting on a shelf. Just me being stubborn I guess. I have checked all connections (f-r switch, ITS, all micros, micro switch arms, new solenoid, resistor and diode) I jumped the solenoid, nothing. All I get is a solenoid click when you press the pedal. Keep in mind, it is a brand new motor and new batteries. It has 37.54 reference volts. I finally got that EMP motor I wanted and now I can't play with it.....Grrrrrrr ![]() |

![]() After buying a new Alltrax 400 amp controller and the cart still wouldn't run I went back to the forums and starting reading AGAIN.
I found a new post I hadn't seen. Quote:
Nothing. So I turned a "wiggle" into a Umm........Frustrated "TUG" and sure enough, problem found. ( I also "talked" to it while tugging) I cleaned my F/N/R contacts and the cart runs great. P.S. EMP has my vote...I love the power and torque difference. Thank to all for the help. ![]() |
