Default It just died.

I have a 1996 ezgo DCS cart has been running great, the other day I hit the pedal, the cart jumped and died. No solenoid click, but with the key on and you flip the run tow switch after a few seconds something in that area clicks. Where should I start? Thanks.

With charger disconnected from cart, Run/Tow switch in Run, Keyswitch ON and F/R in Fm you should have pack voltage on pins 6, 9 and 10.

When you push the pedal, you should get pack voltage on Pin-5 and the solenoid should click.

Get the solenoid clicking when the pedal is pushed and if it doesn't run the problem is in the high current circuit, possibly a bad controller.

If it turns out to be a bad controller, don't replace it with a stock DCS controller, they had some design flaws and a high failure rate. Use an Alltrax DCX or XCT controller.

Is it a DCX400 (User programmable) or a NCX400 (non-programmable) controller?

Here is a schematic for a DCX/NCX in a DCS cart. It is a plug-n-play for a stock DCS controller, so the wires highlighted in red on the first schematic still need to have pack voltage on them to energize the solenoid.

Is the LED staying solid green after four blinks (meaning ITS throttle type is selected), or are you getting an error code? (Red Blinks)

The Alltrax DCX/NCX controllers are very reliable, but they do fail occasionally.
However, there is a lot of troubleshooting to do before we know if yours failed or not.

What solenoid are you using? Stock or aftermarket?

Pin 6, 9, 10 have packed voltage and 5 when the pedal is push but no solenoid click and no light on the controller red or green.

With pack voltage on pins 6, 9 & 10, the LED should illuminate.

The only possibility other than a bad controller that I can think of is a bad connection between the main negative terminal on the battery pack and the B- terminal on the controller.

If the B- connection is good, give Alltrax a call. (541-476-3565)
They may have some other tests you can do.
Be sure to have the controller's serial number handy. (Label on bottom of unit)
