Default 2010 TXT question....

OK guys...This is a 48 volt 2010 TXT ezgo....This cart was in an accident when being towed, and the only damage was the top was bent...The cart did not turn over...The problem came when someone tried to steal the cart when the driver went to get a hub and tire...The cart was towed about a mile with the tow/run switch in the run position...

The cart ran fine prior to this incident. Now the solenoid is not clicking....Now my first thought is the controller is burnt from being towed...However, while checking the solenoid, I have 50 volts on all four post...so I start to disconnect wires to check continuity on the solenoid...

End results, with all the wires disconnect from solenoid, I have 50 volts on the cable coming from the controller to the solenoid....I believe it should be the other way...50 volts on battery side then the clicking of the solenoid sends 50 volts to the controller...

OK...I have the download on how to check the controller, just trying to save a little time....

Is the controller bad (100%) if it is sending volts to the solenoid...

Thanks...Bill

No - you are reading the capacitor charge in the control. But yes, it is most likely the control and possibly the motor are bad after being towed in run.

Thanks Scottyb.....OK...I will do the continuity test on the motor and guess I will go ahead do the controller test....Its going to be a pain in the butt on the 2010, the controller is mounted upside down and the wires are really short...

Thanks
Bill

This is a TXT48 sepex drive system. With the precharge resistor removed the controller should bleed off the caps in 15 minutes or less for safety (typical)
