Gas Powered Club Car Surging
I have a gas powered Club Car that surges when it is running. I can hold my foot steady on the accelerator and it will start running and then cut out, then start running again. I have read where some others have had this problem and found they had a bad rev limiter. I bypassed mine and the cart did exactly the same thing. No difference. The cart is my grandma's and set for a while. I have put good gas in it. I noticed today that it feels like it is trying to run away because it's still accelerating with out me moving my foot until it stalls. Any ideas?

It sounds like rev limiter is still connected. Double check that the brown wire you removed from rev limiter is not touching the engine and still able to operate.

Re: Gas Powered Club Car Surging
governor is probably out of wack, the rear arm could be bent up, the return spring on the carb could be broken, the carb butterfly could be sticking from sitting and getting gummed up. could have something making one of the cables stick.
