Stereo system ideas
Looking for some input from you guys who have installed stereo systems. I want to add some decent quality speakers, sub, and amp to my cart. Looking at Polk db651's for the speakers. Not sure about amp and sub. My dillema is where to install them? Thinking of cutting holes and putting the 6.5's in the kick plate area. I would probably put a small enclosed sub in the bagwell area. The amp can go under seat and hook up to my 12 volt deep cycle marine battery.

Re: Stereo system ideas
I have to ask, what is the "kick plate" area?

Ahh, I like the pod idea. No cutting in to body required, and speakers face towards the rear of vehicle.

Re: Stereo system ideas
This is a setup I put in my boat. I will put this in my cart minus the sub and amp.
JBL MA6002 2-Channel Full-Range Marine Amplifier JBL PRV175 Guage Style AM/FM USB Bluetooth Marine Stereo 2x 6.5" Inch JBL Stereo Marine Speakers + Marine Speaker Wire, Enrock Universal USB AUX Input Interface Mount, Stereo Waterproof Cover, Antenna Now, the reason I am not putting a sub and amp in my golf cart is the inconsistent charging of a golf cart stopping and going and the large power draw from a sub and amp would leave minimal play time on battery. I am not sure how strong the alternators are in golf carts ( can they charge as fast as you draw). Food For Thought! |

Re: Stereo system ideas
I mounted 2 speakers under the cupholder like RAKA97. But I just used an amp mounted inside the dash with a plug in for an IPod. We weren't looking for a radio and even with 2 speakers it's plenty loud enough.

Re: Stereo system ideas
I really like the idea of mounting two 6.5"s under the cup holder. I would of never even thought about that location. I am not worried about battery drain since I installed a separate 12 volt deep cycle batter to run accessories. It should power the radio for as much time as I would need.

Re: Stereo system ideas
I was thinking about trying one of roof mounted consoles from GMT golf car accessories (hope the pic attached).
Anyone have experience with them? |
