2009 EZGO backfiring on occasion
Hey golf car people,
A 2009 EZGO was brought in the other day, the starter belt was slipping and backfired on occasion. It has a Kawasaki motor inside and I adjusted the screw on the carb to ensure the butterfly valve was fully closed. Two days go by with no backfiring! I was sure it was over but this morning sure enough it backfired as I was going to take it out and drive it. When i inspected it again, I noticed the plate that is supposed to rest against the end of the screw does not make contact. It seems to have around 1/16 to 1/8 of room between it and the end of the screw. the problem is the screw is backed off as far as i can go. I noticed there is a spring where the little plate pivots on....could that spring be losing its tension and not allowing the plate to rest all the way against the screw? There also seems to be a long metal rod that is partially hidden under the muffler tube that connects to that plate. Is there an adjustment that needs to be made on that metal rod?? thanks for any advice golf car people |
