1999 EZGO TXT won't free wheel/ can't push it
Hi all,
I am working on a 1999 Ezgo TXT 36v. I have the car all the way down to the rolling chassis. It was a working operating cart prior to disassembly. I tore it down and tried to push it out of my garage and it would not budge. I thought the brakes may have just stuck on and rocked it a bit and it finally moved. so I took it out side pressure washed the entire rolling chassis, pushed it back into the garage where it sat for a few days only being moved a few feet here and there. Tonight I received my 6" lift kit and wanted to install it, I needed to move the cart again and it wont budge. Its like the rear end is all locked up. when I lifted the rear wheels off the ground the tires spin freely in opposite directions as the should, so I know its not the brakes holding it up. But again when trying to spin both wheels in the same direction they won't move. Please tell me this is a easy fix. |

No, they won't both spin the same direction with the rear wheels off the ground. These carts have open differentials, similar to a limited slip. With the rear jacked up, whichever way you spin one side, the opposite wheel will spin the other direction. There's nothing wrong with your axle or differential.

I understand how the differential works.
Help me understand how I can push it out of my garage and power wash it and push it back in one day then the next it won't move an inch. That is my problem |

would test the motor
motor test WARNING you don't want to make a big spark anywhere near the battery. jumper cables may be used black clip on battery negative, red clip on motor A1 post, tap the other ends together note : use 2 wrenches on motor studs to keep them from spinning |

I can try that but it was a fully functional cart, everything worked prior to me taking the body and batteries out. Put new batteries in last year and was completely stock. Why would it all of a sudden not be able to free wheel so I can move it. I have 2 carts both ezgo and I can push my other one just fine.

if ... if a brush came off it would hamper the motor movement
the brakes are working if you get movement from wheels off the ground then ether the motor or front wheels are hanging |

How do I identify if a brush came off? Where are the brushes?
