Default Difference between RXVs 2009 vs 2012

If anyone could please tell me information between the different RXV models I would appreciate it.

I know so far.

2009 years
1. Bad motor brake
2. Bad solenoid
3. Older Danaher (spelling?) controller

Is it worth getting a 2012? or are only the above 3 things changed?

Last year I took a 2009 RXV and dropped 5 grand into it and made it very awesome cart. I changed the brake, solenoid and thats it. I just sold it and looking to do a better build.

EZGO sells a kit to upgrade from the Danaher to the Curtis 1206AC.

https://shop.ezgo.com/products/Speed...roduct_id=6181

They appear to claim its faster, but as with other EZGO its limited around 15mph unless freedom mode is unlocked then it will allow it to do 20 or so.

The Curtis control is 235A vs the Danaher 230 (not that 5 more makes that much difference). HOWEVER, there is a 350A version of the 1206AC that as far as I can tell is a drop in replacement for the 235A

I dont see what you get for $1200 there? I turned the speed up on the 2009 RXV with the danaher controller and it went 20 mph. It went 29 MPH with a 6 in lift kit and tires.

Is the only difference a little speed? Im looking for any significant differences that would make me purchase a newer RXV.

I somewhat disagree. The danaher-specific parts are hard to find, not available, or very expensive (anyone heard of a "resistor control module", its $732, by itself). The curtis model is much more flexible for tuning & parts are available. On a curtis model, all settings go in 0.1 increments, you can even set its voltage for use with nearly any solenoid you may want to use. On a danaher model the adjustments are "low, medium, high", want to adjust reverse gear settings independently of forward gear? too bad, Turn off reverse buzzer on your hunting buggy? Nope, Feel like setting acceleration settings for lower & higher speeds, nah. Want to make it squeel the tires when you mash the gas, No way. In totally stock form, there is little difference, but if you think you may want to tune its characteristics to suit your tastes on "not used for golf vehicles", go with the newer model. Also, no difference in speed at all in stock form, they are both capable of 19mph on stock tires.

HTR, care to see inside a $732 resistor control module? Yeah, a few mosfets, a few resistors, a few transistors, and a mysterious white chip, yep, looks like $732 worth to me! LOL!

Probably bad mosfets have you tried to replace them?

Mystery chip is optocoupler - MOSFET driver.

Looks straightforward.

BTW haven't seen a bad resister control module in over 3 years.
