Default Battery condition... or lack thereof

As can be seen above, my battery pack is not good. #1 and #4 is toast and the rest are reasonable. This was 12 hours after a full charge.
My question to the group is:

1. can I reasonably drop in two decent similar batteries and limp along for a couple of months? I am very low on funds at present. I know I need a new set.
2. can I put my 6 volt charger on the other 4 batteries one at a time to bring them up to par without separating them from each other, or do I have to break the connection between them first?

The batteries are US 1800 and marked E1, I am assuming that they are May 2011. 5 and half years old, pretty much in the proper range of decline as I have read on the site. So all-in-all not too bad for life expectancy.

But still bad timing.

p.s. pardon the image size, I am still trying to get used to what is right for the site. I'll know next time what pixel size to shoot for.

You can charge 1 or 2 batteries in the middle of a pack by simply connection the charge leads to the + and - of the battery(ies) targeted for charging.

I can't see your picture due to a slow connection so I'll assume all are 6 volts...

1) Yes, you can do whatever your budget says you must do. Just look for batteries that are very close in amp-hour ratings...

2) Yes, you can indeed charge batteries one at a time without disconnecting any cables...

Worth a shot. I might be able to swing that much out of the budget.

Thanks Crash!

if you put new batteries with old-the old will damage the new-so i would find some"good" old batteries and buy a new pack when the budget allows...

It is an iPhone app called BattSix. Only good for 6 batteries and it is manually inputted. At lease it is free. It helps me remember the SOC chart.
