Default 36V battery charge indicator on 48 v cart ?

Helping out at local cart barn , today I
R & R'd a set of batts, 6 - 8s, 48 V
95 DS

Made "Block diagram " of batts & wires

Red wire on the 4 th batt -Neg to the (LED ) batt indicator
New batts, hooked it back to the 36 v post, It reads full

Appears, the owner is using a 36 V indicator for his batt indicator
Any problem with that?
Not sure where the + hooks up, in the dash someplace.. .
Only works with the key on.

Makes me wonder why though, got it free .??

Home made batt wires , 2 had wing nuts

Orange wire, lights, didn't see a reducer, (was there for batts)
(Spliced to yellow , one more splice then wire disappears)

1 st pics shows new batts I put in.
new cables , then batt terminal spray
New cables, new 9/16 nuts,"..
not new + or - lugs though
No crimp tool, owners crimp works, he drove it in.

Owner had done some work on it (other than the cables & batt charge indicator)
Had a plastic box under the cart for throttle
Had to push the pedal over 1/2 to get it to move

So is it hooked up to 24 v & is the - neg lead to the indicator ( like crash test thought )
Or
Is it 36 v & this red wire is + 32v, neg is batt - ?

I said it works with the key, but I'm not sure that's right.
I don't remember turning the key on, but did see the indicator light up.
Was full or one down from full

Did test drive it, lights worked, everything worked,
Didn't Think Go pedal engaged like normal.
Fairly fast though, faster than mine.

Electron flow - to +,
Ever here the term "hole flow" (+ to -)

You are right, no idea what V the meter is

Connected to batt 3 + / batt 2 -

Could be the speed control box, not see it good, (bi-focals not line up under cart)
Black fuzzy box.

I put new #6 batt cables on it, but IMO, needed new terminal lugs on the Batt + or Batt - wires also

R&R
Thought everyone used acronyms,
A maintenance term
But won't argue the . " an Alaskan thing ", might be, we're
out of the norm, but What's norm?
possible brain freeze , dark all winter/daylight all summer effects us too
:-)
