Default Re: 36v with 42v charger

talked to the guy who sold him the batts
Was the batt guy at the shop, he said he'd make it good
Because he was the one who told him 36v would work,
Has done that before & always swaps out chargers
but this time he forgot to swap out the 42 charger with a 36v

Sometime we trip over 100 dollar bills to save a dollar

Wonder how much life is left in them
Betting every time they were charged they got pretty warm

Global batteries

He said he likes his 42 v charger
Still plans to run 36v & charge with a 42 v charger.
Hope he frequently checks the water & keeps them full

Will lead to a short lifespan for that pack, but "to each 'cheap-a**' their own". Park it outside while charging, so if it catches fire, the cart is all they lost. I hate to see a guy leave the shop deciding their way was better than a few bucks to fix it right, when the wrong way looks like a fire danger to me.

The stink while charging was pretty bad
An open walled cart barn & a little breeze was a good thing

5 gallons for 6 batts amazed me,
how much fluid in a 6 volt cart battery

we kept looking under the cart for leaks

5 gallons?

Also, I have no problem buying factory reconditioned stuff for my own use. 1) Saves a ton of money. 2) Manufacturer has been through it, probably more so than when it went through the factory the first time. 3) Has same warranty. 4) Most companies care about their reputation.

Well there you go it was a mistake by the guy who sold the batteries, so i guess its not so bad to warranty them.

On the other hand, I had to read the post 2 or 3 times i could not believe that the guy is going to keep using the 42v charger
He would be better off in all ways to just get another battery and go 42v

+1
He was told that Yesterday
Save $130 , & be lucky to get 2 seasons out of the 6 new batts
?????

IMO
Some blame to the owner for not monthly checking / filling the batts water or cleaning
