Default First problem with new to me cart

This is a 2002 AQ02 cart. Has D&D upgrade high speed motor. Cart seemed to run great, but now while driving a couple times just stalls out. Speed sensor movement alarm comes on. Take foot off Accelerator and then step on it again and it seems to run normal. Is this MCOR? if not, where do I start to check. Still has OBC, 2015 mix match batteries of 5 duracel and one trojan. 6g cables that don't look great.

Welcome. I would first check total voltage when fully charged, check each battery one might be bad and get yourself some new cables. Let me know what readings you get on voltage. Good luck.

I am no expert, and don't know what kind of throttle control you have in your car.

But try pumping the Go pedal 20 times, WITH THE KEY OFF, I have read that this can clean the contacts and allow your throttle control to work better at least for a while.

Smarter people than I will confirm if this will work for your car.

I believe what you are saying is Clear contacts on MCOR. I still wouldn't know if this is the problem because it is so sporadic that I wouldn't be sure it helped because it works right away every time now after just one pump

Okay. All six batteries read 8.58 to 8.6. Full pack is 51.8. That is after a a full charge and a nights rest.

This cart does not have a OEM key switch. It even feels like a regualr car switch. It goes back to an accessory position and has a spring like full turn "starter" posistion. Earlier the horn stopped working and when I looked could not find a feed from batteries. Horn started working after I turned on lights. And still worked after lights were turned off. I am wondering if accessories are not wired through key switch and there is a short there. Do you think this could also be the source of my motor cut out?

Since You have an early IQ model, what You are are experiencing is likely the "main dropout" problem.

Club Car had a field modification done to the early IQ carts where a short harness that includes a diode is wired in series with the Tow/Run switch.

That diode was later added to the factory harness and finally eliminated in the 2011 DS due to that years controller revision including the functionality.

The issue did not exist in Excel carts.

If the "drop-out" harness is not installed or the diode failed ON, the controller triggers a false error when the cart engages Regen to slow down.

You would typically notice the problem when going WOT and exceeding the Controller programmed speed or going downhill.

Check to see if there is a short harness on the back of the Tow/Run switch, and if so, check the diode.

Okay. There are two black wires coming out of Tow Run and they plug into a plug with a red and green wire leading away. I see no diode.
