Default Crank Shaft Oil Seal

What is involved with replacing the crank shaft oil seal on the fan side. Looks like you have to pull the engine to pull the flywheel. ?? Maybe best done at a service center.

Rare they have an issue, but if it is leaking then I would just pull the motor. Easy enough to pull out and be able to do the job right.

Clutch side is easily done in the cart.

Since it should be done right I decided to take to the local EZGO dealer/service center and let them do the job. The service manager said that they would check the o-ring in the oil pump cover first. He suspects it just might be that o-ring that failed and being under a lot of pressure right there at the pump. He said they can replace the o-ring and the crank shaft seal without pulling the engine @ 1 and 3/4 hours @90 bucks an hour. I have some other "noises" I want identified and corrected too. Better to have someone to do the work that knows how than me who has never done it before and don't have the tools (flywheel puller etc)

Fan side oil seal can be done in the cart also. A piece of pvc pipe cut to length and of the same size as the seal works great for a seal driver.

Use loctite bearing retainer on the outside of the seal to help provide a chemical bond instead of just relying on the interference fit of the seal into the block.
