The 2 Small Switchs on Sides
This is an example of the shift assembly on 91 Gas Marathon On mine one switch has both wires disconnected. The right side switch ( closest) to battery(right) side. Everything works as it should. Attached is picture

The driver's side is the backup buzzer. The passenger side is the neutral safety switch.
The neutral switch is connected in line with the pedal, and key switches. Up to 85, or 86, it didn't even exist. |

A big thx., I think I can say I have never used neutral safety,, just flip switch an stomp gas pedal.
