mcore access on 2001 club car ds
Hi All,
I just recently purchased a 2001 club car ds and it hesitates, i understand that indicates that the mcore is going bad. How do i get to the mcore on a 2001 club car ds? I don't see an access panel under the mat nor any screws holding the floor down. Any help in pointing me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated! Clay BTW - followed peoples advice on my front end problems, replaced all the bushings, and the steering is nice and tight now. Thank you for this! |

Re: mcore access on 2001 club car ds
Unless your cart has been changed, you won't have a MCOR. You will have either:
a) If 36 volt resistor type - a V-Glide b) If 36 volt controller type - A Multi-step Potentiometer c) If 48 volt - Also a Multi Step Potentiometer All of them are located in a pie-shaped plastic box between batteries below the driver seat. They can be replaced...or (if not totally shot) serviced. People will need more info from you for someone to help...Is it 36 volt or 48 volt? Serial number will be most helpful too - it will determine your drive system (there were 4 different drive systems in 2001). |

You get to it from underneath the car on a DS. Jack the front end up in the air and lay down underneath it. It's bolted to the passenger side I-Beam beneath the floor. AM293101 is the correct replacement kit for your car.

I could have sworn 2001 was multi-step. CVP was gone by late '99 I thought.

We're both right. I knew 2001 was the transition year but I forgot that it happened during the middle of the year somewhere. I can't find the serial number cut-off anywhere for the CVP. The 2001 book shows both.

I had looked that up before, Serial numbers after AA0112-001470 had MCORs.
