Question Ezgo express S4 hard acceleration

Just purchased an 2014 EzGo express S4 with the kawasaki 401cc. When I hit the gas pedal its so touchy but it takes a minute to "kick in" and then when it does it jerks and shoots off like a rocket! It has a lot of power but its so touchy that I can't even keep my foot steady and the cart is keeping a very unsteady jerky speed because of that.

QUESTION #1: Is there a way to adjust the sensitivity of the foot pedal so it eases into a normal speed?

QUESTION #2: What would cause a delayed reaction upon acceleration?

AND just a side question...ARE THOSE ENGINES supposed to be so loud?! I feel like I'm on a ATV vs a golf cart...would like a much smoother ride....sigh

First things I would do is check throttle cable adjustment per factory specs, check condition of the drive belt, and if the drive clutch might be sticking causing a sudden engagement.

That's some good advice. Ill do some research on the throttle adjustment. I did notice the belt appears a little loose so ill try replacing that...if that doesn't help then I guess ill resort into replacing the clutch....its a loud motor but it seems to have a constant "whine" the WHOLR time it running...do you think some of the above might be a cause of that as well?

It keeps getting better NOW ny gas EZ GO died suddenly while driving...when I push on the gas pedal there is absolutely no noise, no power, no NOTHING! The headlights won't work either...its like the cart is just completely dead. Checked fuses and they are fine....no idea where to start next.

Probably need to start with the basics. Your other issues might have been symptoms of what has now evolved to a bigger problem.

Can you get your hands on a manual for your model?
