2005 EZGO TXT gas suddenly stopped -

Hi - New to Golf carts. Just purchased an 05 EZGO TXT - usually runs well. Just took it around the yard and it suddenly died - could not get restarted - seemed dead. Battery seems ok - headlights work - reverse beeper loud. Looking for advise on where to begin troubleshooting......Thank You /G

Could this be a symptom of failing solenoid?

Your going to have to narrow some things down.

You were driving the cart and it died all at once? correct?
No weird noise, just stopped?

The engines turns over, spins, but does not start?

Have you checked the gas? is there gas in the filter?
Do you have spark at the plugs?

No weird noise, just stopped? No weird noise - just stalled. Then totally dead -no clicking when depressing gas pedal. But the headlights and reverse beep work....

Have you checked the gas? is there gas in the filter? very little gas in the filter - just a trickle - should the filter be full?

Do you have spark at the plugs? I am new to this cart thing - just unscrew the plugs - keep them close to housing - turn key and look for spark? I will check and advise.

check the cable connection at the starter, then turn the starter over by hand a half turn or so, then try to start again.

It's not gas, and it's not spark plugs.

You just said that the engine doesn't even turn over.

You said no solenoid click. Step on the pedal, and check for power to the small terminal on the solenoid. One terminal goes to ground, the other should be getting voltage.

You can also jump those terminals directly to the battery to test the solenoid.

Hi All<
Thank you for your troubleshooting suggestions. Just got back from checking a few things on the EZGO.....turns out to be a broken wire on the terminal -- recrimped new end on wires - back in business - issue resolved. Thanks again for help.....
