Not a governor in the engine . The cart has a
rev limiter built into the ignition module that senses engine RPM which keeps the engine from exceeding the factory set RMP's.

I had a workhorse fool me many years ago. It acted like the was starving for gas. What happened is the driven clutch had froze up and the rev limiter took over. Sort of like driving a straight shift vehicle wide open in 1st gear.

I have a 9hp torn apart on the table right now so I can assure you no governor is in the engine. Tom.

Between rev limiter and stock governor it makes for an interesting drive. I bought used with PO having adjusted spring overly tight and linkage rods bent. Removing all linkage from rear end and let rev limiter limit rpm is an idea
