2g wire uprade
Will all 2g wire handle the same load? I got a role of 2g that I used to replace the factory wires in my cart, but wondering if all 2g will handle the same load. Still running the factory controller and motor for now, just want to make sure I didn't waiste my time. The wire has 60v on the insulation but no mention of and amperage.

Re: 2g wire uprade
As long as it’s 2 AWG welding wire it should work. You want hundreds of small thin copper strands, not just a handful of thicker ones.

Re: 2g wire uprade
As the others stated and the 600v tells you a lot about it. The strand count is another; the higher the count, the more flexible it is. Also the sheathing plays into it as some (higher ambient temperature durability) will have a heavier jacket and those are the ones that will not pass through your OBC.

Re: 2g wire uprade
60v rating is real low for a 2 awg copper cable. I think that is a misprint. Most 2 awg welding lead is rated for 600v. Looks like it has a good number of strands.

Re: 2g wire uprade
Not sure it's welding lead. I'm now thinking is battery cable.
