Default Switching a DCS to PDS

I'm currently having issues with my DCS cart and a local shop made a suggestion about switching it to a PDS cart. Is this possible? if so has anyone done it? If so what all would need to be replaced to accomplish this? TIA

You would need a. PDS controller a PDS motor, A PDS wiring harness, And A F/R switch. It would be easier to fix your DCS drive system. If you go back to your DCS thread. JohnnyB and others will get your DCS cart running. For A lot cheaper

There is no real difference in the two systems other than the wiring harness and a speed sensor. If it's a controller problem just replace it with a Alltrax XCT DCS controller. Same controller minus the speed sensor.

As far as I can tell from your other post, http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...ey-switch.html, the solenoid contacts are not closing when the pedal is pushed and there is a bad switch on the DCS F/R assembly.

More troubleshooting is needed to determine what is wrong. It might just be a microswitch or two that needs to be replaced, and if need be, the DCS F/R switch can be replaced with a DPDT/center off toggle switch.

There is the possibility the Alltrax DCX controller is bad, but the least expensive fix is replacing it with a XCT-DCS controller.

Converting a DCS drive to a PDS drive is possible, but not practical, at least from a monetary perspective.

The introduction of the PDS (precision drive system) added several benefits to the drive system gained from monitoring and controller the motor rpms. Among these features were roll-a-way protection, regenerative braking, speed limiting, motor field mapping, performance chips, and low voltage cut off.

The DCS system is a good system & has it advantages when outfitted with the Alltrax control.
