Default 1998 Ezgo Txt

Have an issue with my 1998 ezgo gas golf cart. I have good spark spark plugs are new. Fuel pump works perfectly as explained to me. Valves are set at .004 as recommended. Compression on both is 140 psi. What am I missing? Cart turns over but will not fire or run. Eventually after a few seconds and if I choke it fluids out. Help please v

Well good news now. I set the valves as per instructions in the tech section and what do you no! My cart started! Case closed!

I have another issue. Once started cart runs great. Problem is starting both hot and cold. If i just barely push on gas petal it eventually will start. Mat sputter and have to repeat a couple times but it will start. If i press the petal down any further than just a little it will tur over but not start. Can smell gas like it is flooding but it is not. I give the choke a quick in and out and it usually helps to start. Any ideas?

Really not sure what could be causing this. Hoping someone has an idea.

Check to see if the carb throttle plate starts to move before the solenoid clicks and the starter/generator starts turning. If it does then it's not adjusted properly or the cable is bound somewhere (I know those route kinda funny and come up from underneath). When this happens you've probably got the throttle about half opened when trying to start, which will make starting hard.

You should see the starter/generator start spinning the motor and then you should have to press the gas pedal another 1/4-1/2" before you see the carb move.
