There's a few threads here about taking the OE Yamaha pump apart and cleaning it. Did you make it that far? You might give that a try. If the rubber diaphragm is still intact and is still pliable, you might be able to use it. Just a thought.

That is exactly what occurred runs very well now after cleanout and a little silicone sealant.

Silicone sealant bad, gasoline turns it into boogers just waiting for the chance to clog up your system.
