What type of Yamaha golf cart do I have?

I sort of impulse bought a gas Yamaha golf cart, and I'm trying to figure out what model it is so I can buy a back seat for it.

As far as I can tell, somebody took an electric Yamaha golf cart, pulled the engine out and put a harbor freight predator engine in it, then did all the paperwork to get it titled as a "2017 Red Baron".

the 670v-twin should give it plenty of beans.
How does it run, drive?

I would say a G14. The serial# plaque should be forward of the battery. A brushed aluminum palate mounted verticly. It would start JN3-******.

That is a 14, 16 or 19. Look for a serial number tag on the driver side upright right behind your left leg under the seat.

With the later 4 cycle Yamaha's only the G8's and G14's had the gas tank on the drivers side and battery on the passenger side. Oh and G5's....but that's another story.

Thanks smallblock- I was wondering about the layout. And then again you’ve been around more Yamaha carts than most

Cart started its life as a sparky so all bets are off.

Well, if it was a G-19, it was electric, since they never made a G19 gas. And the tabs for gas tank would likely not be present on any electric frame nor would a 12v battery tray, also the correct bracket for solenoid & fuel pump mounting are present (but a welded in cage for 36v batteries would). The Body started life on an electric cart.

It looks a lot like it was a G14 gas originally.
