2003 EZGO stops after 30 minutes
I have a 2003 EZGO TXT with new batteries. The cart runs good for about 4 miles or 45 minutes but then dies like the batteries are dead. I test the batteries and 38.0 to 38.5 so batteries are still good. Any idea on what the issue could be? Thanks

Sounds like thermal failure. Big tires ? Lift?

Re: 2003 EZGO stops after 30 minutes
Yes 22” tires and a 3” lift. It does seem like a thermal issue because if you let it sit the cart will run good again for a limited time. How can I fix the issue? Thanks

You can check the motor and see if it is getting hot but more than likely the controller. What drive line is this cart? Series or PDS? Where is the FnR switch?

I believe it is a pds. The switch is on the dash beside the key.

Re: 2003 EZGO stops after 30 minutes
That would be a PDS. Navitas and Alltrax both make controllers for this setup but most use the Alltrax xct400 with a new heavy duty solenoid and at least 4 gauge wires. Check out the sponsors for prices.

Re: 2003 EZGO stops after 30 minutes
No problem. May even want to go for the 500 amp and turn it down with the stock motor. Comes with the fan and can be turned up later if you replace the motor.

Re: 2003 EZGO stops after 30 minutes
I think I will do the 500. I only see 400 amp solenoids. Should I get the 400 amp solenoid? Do you need to do anything to turn it down? Or does it automatically adjust? Thanks
