Fuel lines could be leaking air.
Dirty fuel filter.
Dirty pump
Pump losing its prime.
Dirty carburetor.
Clogged muffler.

cleaned carb Chinese one . checked fuel lines getting plenty of fuel, new air filter, checked for intake leaks, runs great just have to start with choke every time, on a mission to find problem.110 compression, 1988 model robins motor mix 2oz per gallon.

That's twice as much oil as it needs, and it still sounds like the pump is losing its prime.

fuel filter stays full,pulled fuel line off this morning instantly pumped fuel into bucket, carb bowl is full, you think crank seals are going bad , open for answers,Thanks

pulled fuel line off carb instant fuel into bucket, carb bowl is full, ill try another carb, open for suggestions, read alot on crankseals, even disconnected exhaust just does not want to go till i pull choke

I'm going to assume that this happens even when warm. If so, I'm going with carburetor needs a better cleaning. All of the little holes in the center stem.

I know old thread, but any chance you can post a pic of the muffler? Neighbor has a 88 and can't find a muffler. Would like to see actual pic of one. thanks
