Default battery meter wiring help needed

Before I start off, I've looked through the stickies and done a search, but haven't found anything to help, so I'm putting up this post.

I have an '89 DS that I'm finishing up a rebuild on and I can't get the battery meter to work.

It is the 36V Curtis meter.

I had installed the cheaper, no name version and couldn't get that one to work, so I figured that I'd get the Curtis. I'm having the same problem. Nothing on the display. My battery back is charged, so there shouldn't be a voltage issue and I've wired it correctly.

Terminal one is wired to the positive side of my pack, terminal 2 to the negative, and the switched side of my key switch is connected to terminal 4.

Any advice is appreciated as I'm out of ideas!

Ok do you have a three position key switch, if so that is for 12v accessories, use your multi meter and check for voltage on the back of your key switch, when you first turn it on and you get 36v, that is where you want to hook up the meter to.

It's a two position switch. On and off.

I'm now getting a blinking led light on the far right of the gauge. Progress.
